The Magical Story of St. Patrick’s Day
Once upon a time a very long time ago on a beautiful island called Ireland there was a boy named Patrick. When he was young he was taken far away from home and had to live in a place where he didn’t know anyone. It was a hard time and Patrick had to work very hard every day. But, Patrick was brave and he never gave up hope.
After several years Patrick found a way to return home. But Patrick loved Ireland so much that he decided to stay there and help the people. He wanted to teach them about being kind helping one another and believing in magic; the kind that comes from love and courage.
Patrick also loved the beautiful green hills and the tiny shamrocks that grew all around. One day he used a little three-leafed shamrock to explain something very special: how three things can be separate yet connected just like the leaves on a shamrock. People thought this was amazing and they remembered Patrick’s lesson for years and years.
Over time Patrick became very famous for his kindness his courage and his clever way of teaching. People started celebrating him every March 17th the day he passed away to remember all the good things he had done. They wore green made parades and even told stories about magical leprechauns who hid pots of gold at the end of rainbows!
Today St. Patrick’s Day is a day for everyone....kids and grown-ups alike; to celebrate Ireland kindness courage and a little bit of magic. You might wear green look for shamrocks or imagine finding a leprechaun’s pot of gold. And just like Patrick you can make the world around you a little brighter with courage kindness and a big heart.
